Has anyone made enquiries as to the cost of having one satelitte dish to serve the community, I know there would be a problem as to where it pointed and what stations it picked up.
Installing a wireless internet connecting would seem like an obvious thing to do, if the cafe in the village can do it, why not us. You could keep the cost down by making the lobby a hot spot, put in chairs, tables, a coffee machine etc. Nice way of meeting people to, not everyone likes to get round the pool. Idea

We have discussed this idea at the committee meetings and Malcolm has looked into it with one or two providers. There are problems as not everyone wants the same.
I have suggested a 2.4 mtr dish but one dish would not be enough to provide everyone in the place. You would need to have them dotted about.
That becomes a problem in as much as people may not want them in view of their home.
I believe that if enough people were interested in having a better system a solution could be found.
It would cost and who pays?
Spanish owners don't need dishes as they have digital on the roof.
    Anyone got any other thoughts?

So was there ever any discussion about Internet connection, etc in the reception lobby?

No, Mad I'm afraid not. It's far too complicated at the moment and far too technical. Rolling Eyes
Maybe when we have got some of the more pressing problems out of the way we could look into it. study

I am not sure what the contract for the office (Tina's laptop) connection says about the number of PCs to be connected to the router/modem, but if that is more than one, we could just open the user access to that line( like i.e., username:common/ password: nova ). Works fine here were I live and does not add any costs. I though remember, that there was a vote of the matter to cover whole property with wireless access in last AGM, but that did not fly.
